Brand our school
  • Place on our marquee, inform community in our Newsletter, and publish on our website band concerts / parades / CHSAA participation / Drama performances
  • High level of quality student work samples displayed throughout the school to include artwork, STEAM work, PBL work, and Sports/Clubs statistics. Strategically display these items around the school and school entry way 
  • School Email Pushes (easy for community to get information quickly)
  • Empower the JSHS Student Council student voice boxes (one in the MS and one in the HS) so students voices can be heard
  • Develop a School Welcome packet to include ambassador tours
  • Solicit Business Sponsorship
  • Mail drops - QR code
  • Maintain banners at the entry points of the school district
School Board, Superintendent, Administration (i.e. Principals & Assistant Principal), grade level faculty/staff, & JSHS Counselor. Priority given to building Executive Administrative Assistants, Hanover webmaster, and PHE/JSHS students
2020 - current. We have embraced an “Authentic Learning” model district wide. This is coupled with a PBL process vertically 6-12. Our Juniors are required by Board policy to perform a PBL their Junior year in order to graduate. Too, S-CAP feedback accentuated the “Branding” we need to perform in the JSHS building, specifically. This is a work in progress. We have painted the JSHS building in school colors, all PBL’s are being displayed in the JSHS, student work is being posted in the halls of both schools (PHE and JSHS) to get the ball rolling, as it were.
Social Emotional Support
  • ​Increase the daily quality of classroom social emotional learning through the use of Second Step, Why Try, and other programs. Ensure the implementation is schoolwide.
  • Monitor levels of student social emotional utilization through a twice a year survey (Panorama).
  • Implement the district platform for SWARM so it is more consistent across the district
  • Identify school level platforms for PBIS
Building Administration, counselor, Sp.Ed. services
2020 - current. Across the District a comprehensive RtI/MTSS model has been or is being invoked. Too, we are intentional with our Second Step Prek-8 and Why Try practices, especially at the secondary level. SWARM is our PBIS mantra. We will be very intentional in progress monitoring this element!
Faculty and Staff retention
  • Develop the district platform for SWARM so it is more consistent across the district
  • Get more positive news out to Pueblo Chieftain and Colorado Springs Gazette about our schools
  • Increase pay
    • Retention Bonus’: Develop a “Value Loyalty” bonus structure (e.g. 5yr., 10 yr., 15 yr….etc)
  • Communication from higher-up more frequent and clear
    • More appreciation for faculty work
  • Equity with Master schedule per annum (MS not equal with support from FTE lens)
  • Maintain workload balance for faculty to ensure plan time with others
  • Increase STING to be used across the district each month
School Board, Superintendent, Administration (i.e. Principals & Assistant Principal)
2019 - current. SWARM is being blended with our PBIS model. Progress is being made. Signing bonuses were given to teachers (in 2 year increments) interested in joining our team. Our Booster organization is being developed to be more universal across the district, not just for the JSHS.
